Day 1: Candida Cleanse

It's another beautiful day in Montana. Birds chirping, sun shining, and the summer smell of the lake. Only one thing missing.. breakfast! Starting the Candida cleanse was not a tastiest start to my day. A gel-like "detox drink" concoction of Bentonite Clay, Psyllium Husk powder, and a cup of distilled water, was about as appetizing as hair gel. But, hopefully, as the Psyllium gently scrapes the junk out my your gut and the Bentonite clay picks up any toxins that are released it will be worth the sacrifice. For those of you who don't know about Candida allow me to catch you up... or rather let the experts.

"Candida Albicans is an opportunistic fungus (or form of yeast) that is the cause of many undesirable symptoms ranging from fatigue and weight gain, to joint pain and gas.The Candida yeast is a part of the gut flora, a group of microorganisms that live in your mouth and intestine. When the Candida population starts getting out of control it weakens the intestinal wall, penetrating through into the bloodstream and spreading throughout the body.As it spreads it produces toxic by-products that cause damage to your body tissues and organs, wreaking havoc on your immune system."

In this four step program I will cleanse, detox, eliminate the candida fungals, and repopulate the beneficial bacteria. Although the last thing a foodie like me want to do is fast, the healthy benefits will surely be worth the struggle. Time to make some organic vegetable broth!

Have a lovely day!
